Physio series - Online Health Workshops

This is a series of free online workshops which shines light on common topics and conditions with guidance towards achieving better health. Register to learn more.

COVID-19 Update - Please note due to the coronavirus crisis, the in person workshops have been cancelled at the Riverton Library for 2020 and being replaced by this online series of workshops.

About the presenter

All the online workshop series will be run by an experienced Physiotherapist - Simran Choudhary. Simran has a wealth of knowledge with managing and preventing common injuries and complaints. The aim of the workshops is to improve awareness around common health concerns which can often be prevented or managed with the right approach.

Simran has a special interest in chronic pain and she uses a unique holistic approach of mindfulness and Pilates to treat a range of conditions such as neck, back, shoulder, hip & knee pain. Simran is passionate about sharing knowledge to benefit the health of the community.

The online workshops have an educational component with practical tips and guidance on common conditions. All the online workshops are scheduled on a Thursday 11:00AM (AWST) - 12PM starting from the 14th May. Sessions are 40 minutes with 20 minutes for question and answer. The following topics will be covered:

Knee Pain 14th May - Knee pain is NOT part of the ageing process! Must attend for anyone with knee discomfort, pain or wanting to prevent it from occurring in the future. 

Back Pain 21st May - Workshop will give an understanding of how chronic back pain occurs and what can be done to exercise to manage or prevent recurrences

Good Posture 28th May - Attend online to learn about what good posture actually is and how it can be achieved

Core & Pelvic floor 4th June - Learn about these muscles and why they are crucial for good physical health including how to engage and strengthen them. Suitable for pregnant ladies, post-natal, incontinence issues, neck pain, back pain or anyone wanting to improve posture

Managing Pain 11th June - Know when to use an ice pack versus a heat pack and other strategies for managing pain whether it is new or you have had it for a while. 

 

Please register online to attend some or all of the sessions. There is an opportunity to ask questions at the live session. If you are unable to attend the live session then a video replay will be emailed out after the session ends to the registered attendees only.
